After the sun dipped below the line of site behind those mountains in the distance, the sky held onto this redish pink hue with a hint of purple. It was one of those moments you just stand there and soak in what nature puts before us. Taken during the height of wild fire season in August, American Fork Canyon, Utah.
Currently there are areas in the western US having their worst fire seasons in history. If you look at a map of all the fires, it literally just looks like the entire western half of our country is aflame. It's devestating what is happening to our forests as well as to those who have homes affected. Although it's tragic what is happening, I still could not resist the drive up American Form Canyon tonight to capture the last of the day. The sun doesn't come through the smoke much these days, but getting up out of the valley, high enough, we were able to see this bit of red sun just light up the sky.
The last of the daylight hitting the gorgeous Utah Wasatch Mountains.
